Dorthe and her husband Erik founded Maileg in 1999, combining their surname, “Mailil,” with “leg,” the Danish word for “play.” Since then, the playful and whimsical world of mice, bunnies, and teddy bears has created legions of fans around the world. Dorthe continues to design the adorable Maileg mice and bunnies, creating exciting new collections twice a year.
